Tom Rosenthal - Run For Those Hills, Babe

“Run for those hills, Babe” was my graduation project. I worked on it for over 6 months and drew 3575 frames by hand. I’m still very proud of this one. The dance is performed by Caroline Stijkel and Tom van Luyn and I animated and directed it. With some of the tests we did I quickly realized I wanted the motion to be very fluid just like the waterbending moves in the avatar series.

Sometimes you are just browsing YouTube and then an idea just sparks. But instead of letting it fade I wanted to see if i can make this within 24 hours max.

mine: For Loka’s second music video they wanted too many things in too little time but I still managed to finish it. They also didn’t quite know what they wanted so there were a lot of different versions in the end.

A friend got me in contact with a Japanese band that was looking for an editor/VFX artist for their music video. For this project I created all the assets and motion tracked it to the music.

This project was done in 24 hours, it's just a simple music video with a looping animation. Using keyframes with a time delay effect makes it feel a bit more natural.
